Outdoor learning is vital in Early Years education. It promotes risk taking, communication, resilience and develops emotional skills, alongside building a connection with nature and our planet and much more! Here are some ideas as to how to bring education into the outdoor environment.

  • Create your own herb/vegetable garden
  • Hang wind chimes/wind socks/ CD’s
  • Parachute games
  • Go on a leaf hunt
  • Paint with bubbles
  • Paint with petals/twigs/leaves
  • Go on a colour hunt
  • Sort natural materials into different groups
  • Leave ice cubes out to melt
  • Collect rainwater and measure the volume
