Book ahead, some rooms are now full until February 2016

The popularity of Nurture means that we are now full in some age groups all the way up to February 2016, especially in the under 2′s section. If you are having a baby or are planning on returning to work and want to have a place at our coveted setting, please contact us now to avoid disappointment.

Plea

We would be very grateful for any donations of spare clothes (any ages and gender), unwanted toys or equipment you may have and any junk modelling resources, such as cardboard boxes, plastic tubs, yoghurt pots, bottle tops, textured or fancy paper (Like the paper off flowers) etc etc.

We have now been open nearly 3 months, what a busy and exciting time this has been getting to know all of our children and their families.  If you have any ideas or suggestions as to how we can enhance and develop our service or provisions, we would be very grateful. Nursery

Pegs and Bags

Each child has been allocated a peg and a pump bag, these have both got a photo of your child enabling your child to identify their own belongings.  These are currently located in the changing room between the 1-2 and 2-3 room.  We ask all parents to take their children with them when taking their child’s belongings to their pegs making them familiar with this process.  We would be grateful if parents could use the pump bags to store their children’s belongings in rather than large bags which take up a lot of space.

First Aid for Parents and Carers

After discussions with parents and carers, we have discovered that some parents would like to attend a first aid course to develop their knowledge of what to do in the event of an emergency.  We have been in discussion with the British Red Cross who run first aid courses aimed specifically for parents, carers and any one else who has regular contact with young children.  These cover everything from Diarrhoea and vomiting to seizures and unconsciousness.  The course would be held at Nurture for 5 hours over 2 evening sessions with a charge of between £20 – £30 per person (price to be confirmed).  In order for the courses to run we need approx 15 participants.  If you would be interested in partaking in this course, please speak to Angela, Rachel or Stacey and let us know which evening would work best for you during October.  (Please note this course is not appropriate for anyone requiring first aid training at work)

Orbit

The majority of parents have now received their letters and returned their confirmation slips.  Please check your emails for your ‘invite’ to join, enabling yourselves to view your child’s journey at nurture.  Please bear in mind that observation and pictures will not always be uploaded on the same day your child attends, ensuring that your child is receiving quality care and education.  We are currently trialling orbit and will keep you updated as to how this is developing.  If you have any queries or concerns regarding this or have not received a letter yet please speak to Angela, Rachel or Stacey at any time.

Nurture Nursery and Pre-School in Marple Passes Ofsted Registration

The staff at Nurture Nursery and Pre-School, the innovative childcare provider in Marple, welcomed Ofsted to their setting on Wednesday this week for their registration inspection.

This part of the process is the most nerve wrecking, but after weeks of hard work putting in place policies ranging from Safeguarding Children to Delivering the EYFS, the inspector passed Nurture Nursery with flying colours.

Setting the Standards For Nursery and Pre-School provision in Marple

Speaking afterwards, Nurture Manager Angela Barlow said that “the inspector was very thorough, I am so pleased that I have been in the profession for so many years because the standard they expect of new nurseries is now so high, they have really raised the bar.”

After touring the newly refurbished building the inspector described the environment as beautiful and ahead of its time. The internal decor designed by Angela allows the resources to be the centrepiece of each room, in line with the very latest research which links neutral decor to enhanced learning experiences.

With her background in Early Years Education, Angela has set herself the target of being the Pre-School of choice for Marple residents, delivering the best educational experience alongside first class childcare.

The senior team at Nurture are all educated to degree level and will ensure consistency of care and education in each room, in line with achieving Angela’s target.

The nursery and pre-school operate an open door policy so feel free to call in any time for a tour and to find out about availability of places.
